Charles Eric Dawson, 71, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 3:25 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at his residence.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Pastor Graham Harvey officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
There will be a celebration of life in Chatham, Ontario, Canada at a later date.
A native of London, Ontario, Canada, he was born May 24, 1952, the son of the late Barclay and Marion Tanton Dawson. A carpenter by trade, he owned and operated a cabinet business, Mainly Wood Operations, in Chatham, Ontario before returning to school to become an engineer. He was a retired engineer from MSSC – Hopkinsville. He loved to play guitar and played in numerous bands throughout his life. He was an avid golfer having belonged to both Novadell and Western Hills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Carol Williston and Joyce Hakker.
Survivors include his wife: Hilarie Dawson; his children: Jennifer Nichole (William) Rees of Beaufort, SC, Timothy Neil Dawson of Big Rock, TN, Craig Charles Andrew Dawson of Hopkinsville, KY, and Graham Christian (Heather) Dawson of Hopkinsville, KY; and his brothers: Arnold (Judy) Dawson, Art (Barb) Dawson, Bill (Stephani) Dawson, and Glenn (Debbie) Dawson all of Ontario, Canada.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sarcoma Research Fund at Vanderbilt Health.
