While June ended with the highest temperatures of 2023, it turned out to be one of the coolest months on record.
According to the Christian County Mesonet site, June’s average temperature was 72.4 degrees which is the sixth coolest on record and three degrees cooler than last year.
The highest temperature was recorded last Friday when the mercury topped out at 95 degrees with a heat index of 116 degrees.
The lowest temperature was 49 degrees on June 13th.
The Mesonet site recorded 4.42 inches of rain in June which is about normal for the month.
Meanwhile in Trigg County, June’s average temperature was 71.6 degrees which is the fourth coolest on record and four degrees cooler than last year.
The highest temperature was recorded last Friday when the mercury topped out at 94 degrees with a heat index of 116 degrees.
The lowest temperature was 45 degrees on June 9th.
The Mesonet site recorded 4.36 inches of rain in June which is about normal for the month.
