Edge Media’s Marlowe Nominated For Kentucky Impact Broadcast Award

Edge Media’s Edward Marlowe covering the 2021 Trigg County Country Ham Festival

News reporting can be a challenging job, but it becomes a little easier when writing stories about the positive things happening in the community.

It’s even more rewarding when those stories receive recognition. The Edge Media Group has recently been nominated for its first Impact Broadcast Award since the Kentucky Broadcasters Association took over the awards from the Associated Press in 2020.

Edward Marlowe, a news reporter for WKDZ, WHVO, and WPKY since June 4, 2021, has been nominated for the ‘Short Light News Feature’ award in the radio division. His story, “Camp Cadiz Assists Those Who Most Need It,” was published on July 1, 2022. The story highlighted the efforts of a group that brings Trigg County students and volunteers together for a week of community service projects.

One of the projects mentioned in the story took place at Vicky Land’s Rich Circle Road home. On that day, Camp Cadiz volunteers constructed a ramp to provide easier access to her home. These projects are completed free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the community and donations received through the Little River Baptist Church Association.

The awards ceremony will take place during the Kentucky Broadcasters Association’s annual conference, which will be held this year at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. The awards will be presented on Monday morning, September 25, starting at 8:00 AM Central time.
