He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rheba Mitchell of Cadiz; five sons, Joshua Mitchell of Cadiz, Victor (Kayln) Haines of Cadiz, Steven Mitchell of Cadiz, David (Julia) Mitchell of Cadiz and Mark Mitchell of Murray, KY; two daughters, Carolyn (Russ) Calhoun of Gracey, KY and Jacqueline Caughey of Cadiz; two sisters, Sandra (Jim) Price of Hopkinsville, KY and Carol E. Robinson of Asheville, NC and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim Mitchell passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at his home in Cadiz, KY
Born October 27, 1937, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James Edgar Mitchell, Sr. and the late Eva Fowler Mitchell. He had worked as local and district manager of Mapco Petroleum for over 30 years, locally managing the Red Ace Market, Cadiz Mapco and Scott’s Market in Cadiz. Jim served in the US Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was a life member of the Moose Lodge, enjoyed gardening and was an avid UK basketball fan.
