A former City of Hopkinsville employee, Chris Jung, has returned to take on the newly created role of Public Information Officer.
Jung will work with all city departments, agencies, directors, and Hopkinsville City Council to gather and distribute accurate information. The PIO position aims to improve communication and consistency across the board.
Jung brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having previously worked for the city and served as the director of marketing and community relations at Jennie Stuart Health. He will also be responsible for organizing events, improving transparency, promoting a positive image, and utilizing social media.
Jung’s return to local government is seen as a valuable opportunity to serve the community and strengthen communication in Hopkinsville.
A graduate of Murray State University, he is married to Brooke Jung, who has served as the Hopkinsville Convention and Visitors Bureau executive director since 2018.
