A Hopkinsville man entered a not-guilty plea on an assault charge in Christian County Circuit Wednesday morning.
Steven Black is accused of shooting Samuel Sivils in the foot on August 8 during some type of altercation. Hopkinsville Police said Sivils was dropped off at Jennie Stuart Medical Center with the gunshot injury.
Black is charged with first-degree assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He will be back in court on October 18.
