Community leaders from Christian County have been having regular conversations with leaders at Fort Campbell to keep an open dialogue about issues they are facing.
Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam said the conversations have led to trying to fix issues that are commonplace across the region.
Another issue that is being discussed, is the lack of childcare.
He added is even tougher to find childcare for those in the military, especially since so many of them do not work the traditional 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM job.
Gilliam said he wants to help those living on Fort Campbell, as much as he can, so the community can continue to retain the nearly 35 percent of those leaving the military that live in the communities surrounding the Army installation.
