A home on Fairview Drive in Hopkinsville was damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says they were called to the home for a kitchen fire and found that the owner and a neighbor had extinguished the bulk of the fire with a fire extinguisher before they arrived.
The home located at 407 Fairview Drive suffered fire damage to the kitchen and some smoke damage to the rest of the home.
Due to the damage, Rogers says the family will be temporarily displaced. No one was injured in the fire.
