A Hopkinsville man was charged after he led law enforcement on a pursuit to the hospital Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 47-year-old Daniel Hightower on West 17th Street after he was seen passing vehicles at a high rate of speed hitting one vehicle before driving on the sidewalk, almost hitting a police cruiser, and failing to stop for law enforcement and two stop signs.
The pursuit ended at the hospital and he reportedly claimed his daughter needed medical attention but he fought with officers while they were trying to take him into custody.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of an accident, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, disregarding a stop sign, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, speeding, and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
