Christian County Public Schools invited the community out Saturday morning for its first-ever Bus Road-EO.
District Director of Communications Johnna Brown told Your News Edge the event was created to help encourage people to apply to be bus drivers for the district.
The district is like numerous others across the state that is facing a bus driver shortage. Superintendent Chris Bentzel said about a month ago they were facing a “dire problem” with driver shortages.
Drivers who came out Saturday had to be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license to participate in the course set up at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville.
