Linda Carol Rogers, age 80, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at her home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Donnie Blick and Brother Phillip Brumfield officiating with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Rogers was born on May 21, 1943, in Christian County, KY; the daughter of the late Jesse Carl Sr. and Nancy Witt Mitchell Lancaster. Linda spent her childhood growing up in Northern Christian County with her brothers and sisters. She attended the old Concord (one-room) School, Crofton School, and graduated from Christian County High School in 1962. She worked at the old Clothing Factory, Thomas Industries, and was Co-Owner of the Pittsburgh Paint Store before starting work as a bank teller at Planters Bank before going to First Federal Bank in 1986. The bank changed names over the years and she retired from the now US Bank in 2004. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed her visits with the Hardees Coffee Group. She was a long-time member of Kelly Baptist Church.
On September 12, 1964, Linda was united in marriage to Ronald “Buster” Rogers. They worked side by side establishing many homes throughout Christian County. They enjoyed building new homes and did this for many years. She became very knowledgeable in moving and setting up the house. Their marriage was blessed with two children; Michael Shawn and Melissa Shea. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lacy, Hubert, Jesse Jr., Richard, and Harold; her sisters Mildred Cannon, Marie Lancaster, Barbara Morrissey, Martha Lancaster, and Oneta Hughes.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ronald “Buster” Rogers of Hopkinsville; her son, Shawn Rogers (Melinda) of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Shea Mohon (Clay) of Hopkinsville; her brother Charlie (Betty) Lancaster, and her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew Rogers; Zach, Macy, Maggie, Jonathan, Bella and Braylee Mohon.
