Officials with Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority are aware of some recently voiced quality concerns.
Monday afternoon, an issued statement made note of changes in taste and/or smell of drinking water.
It has been indicated that a seasonal change in Lake Barkley, along with the flushing of fire hydrants along the water distribution system, should bring about a freshened, improved taste.
The change “may be noticeable to some,” but the water is safe to drink, and meets — or exceeds — all state and federal water regulations.
