The graves of over 650 veterans laid to rest in Trigg County cemeteries have a Christmas wreath thanks to the efforts of Wreaths Across America.
Saturday was National Wreaths Across America Day with over 3 million volunteers nationwide placing decorative wreaths in over 4,200 cemeteries.
In Trigg County, Cindy Hinson heads up the local effort and said wreaths were placed at several locations including Land Between the Lakes.
click to download audioThe Adams, Reynolds, and Edmonds families helped lay the wreaths in East End Cemetery. Bentley Reynolds, a Trigg County High School freshman, joined his travel baseball team in Clarksville last year as part of the mission.

Also helping at the cemetery was the National Honor Society Club at Fort Campbell High School. Dr. Amy Gammons and the club have been a part of the Wreaths Across America for the past seven years but Saturday was the first time they honored the veterans at East End Cemetery.
Kesha Ladd is a club sponsor and graduated from Trigg County High School, next door to East End Cemetery. She called the service of the two-dozen students special.
