The Cadiz Hometown Heroes project will return in 2024 with a few changes.
Cadiz Renaissance on Main Director Brianna Hyde said the city has removed the banners from 2023 and family members can pick them up on Thursday.

Hyde said the program will return in 2024 but there will be some noticeable changes, starting with purchasing a new banner.
click to download audioThe city does not make any money from the project. The Cadiz-Trigg County Parks and Recreation Committee and the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Commission both contributed funds to help purchase brackets to hang the banners to keep the cost low.
She said those who have not purchased a banner in the past will have first dibs with the 2024 Hometown Heroes campaign.

click to download audioThe Hometown Heroes project was initially proposed by Trigg County Magistrate Mike Wright, who saw a similar project while on vacation in New York. Since Cadiz began its Hometown Heroes project in 2022, other cities such as Princeton and Portland, Tennessee have reached out to begin similar programs in their cities.
