The Christian County Grand Jury returned several felony indictments Friday including on rape, child abuse, wanton endangerment and assault charges.
A true-bill was returned on Dominque Jeffers, on charges of incest – victim under 12 years of age, first-degree rape – victim under 12 years of age, first-degree sexual abuse – victim under 12 years of age.
According to the indictment, between July 1, 2019 through December 17, 2019, Jeffers allegedly used force to engage in sexual intercourse with a family member under the age of 12.
Daniella Maleno, of Oak Grove, was indicted on charges of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under and tampering with a witness.
Maleno is accused of intentionally abusing a child between August 28, 2023 through October 27, 2023. The indictment also alleges that between October 6, 2023 through October 27, 2023, Maleno tampered with a witness by contacting an individual “she believed to be a witness in the legal process in an attempt to influence his testimony in the legal process.”
A true bill was returned on Daniel Hightower, of Hopkinsville, on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of an accident and a couple of traffic-related offenses.
The charges stem from October 2023, when Hopkinsville police attempted to stop Hightower on West 17th Street after he was seen passing vehicles at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for officers. During a pursuit with law enforcement, officers said Hightower hit a vehicle and then drove on the sidewalk, almost hitting a police cruiser. The pursuit ended at the hospital where Hightower reportedly claimed his daughter needed medical attention. As he was being arrested, he allegedly fought with officers.
Lametrie Riley, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of first-degree attempted assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree disorderly conduct and local city ordinance violation.
The charges are in connection to a shots fired call that occurred in December in the parking lot of a gas station on Glass Avenue. According to Hopkinsville Police, Riley was involved in a fight with another man when he fired a shot and hit the man’s truck.
A true bill was returned on Jason Killibrew, of Hopkinsville, for failure to comply with the sex offender registry – 2nd offense.
Killibrew was arrested in October after Hopkinsville police were called to the area of Poplar Street for the report of a disturbance where he was trying to fight another man. During the investigation, police found that Killibrew was non-compliant with the sex offender registry.
