Funeral services for 82-year-old William “Bill” Gentry, of Fairview, will be 10 AM Monday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Sunday.
Survivors include:
His wife, Judy Gentry;
His daughters, Karen Gentry (Jason) Brooks of Houston, Texas, Wendy Michelle Gentry, of Virginia, and Rebecca (Doug) Evans, of Houston, Texas;
His stepsons, David (Maggie) Futrell of Centerton, Arkansas, and Mike (Pam) Futrell, of Huntsville, Alabama;
Nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Rev. Ron Hicks is officiating.
He died at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his residence.
A native of Hopkinsville, he was born July 5, 1941, the son of late Edward and Mary Louise Gentry.
He worked 17 years as an EMT for the Hopkinsville Fire Department and was also a self-employed painter. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fairview, where he served as Trustee and Historian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Angela and Sonia Gentry; his brother: Bob Gentry; and a grandchild.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethel Baptist Church or Pennyroyal Hospice.
