Edward Glass, 92, of Princeton

Edward E. Glass, a respected member of the Caldwell County community and a beloved husband, brother, and uncle, passed away on February 18, 2024, in Paducah, at the age of 92. Born on November 6, 1931, in Caldwell County, to the late Edward Everitt Glass, Sr., and Ruth Dearing Glass, he was a man of intelligence, wisdom, and gentleness whose presence enriched the lives of those around him.

Edward, known for his warm smile and kind demeanor, served his country honorably as a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he dedicated many years of service as a mail carrier with the U.S. Post Office, where his reliability and friendly nature made him a well-known figure in his community. His commitment to his faith was evident through his active membership at Eddy Creek Baptist Church, where he not only attended services but also served as a dedicated Sunday School teacher, Sunday School director, a trustee for over 25 years served as treasurer and sang in the choir.

A life rich in love and partnership, Edward leaves behind his cherished wife, Wanda Jean Adams Scott Glass, who stood by his side in both adventures and quiet moments. He was a loving brother to his late sisters, Ellen Jane Hobby and Gloria Glass, and a caring uncle to his four nephews and three nieces.

Edward’s passion for life extended beyond his family and service. He was an avid traveler, exploring new places and experiencing the world’s vast beauty. His interest in history made him not just a tourist but a true historian, always keen to learn and share stories of the past. His enthusiasm for sports was evident in his enjoyment of bowling and golf, activities through which he formed numerous friendships and engaged in friendly competition.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Edward will remember him as a man of great character, someone who could always be relied upon for wise counsel and a gentle word. His intelligence shone through in his thoughtful conversations and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Edward’s life was a tapestry of service, love, and joy. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and a life well-lived.

The family will cherish the memories of Edward’s remarkable life and the time they spent with him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the community that he so greatly impacted.

Edward E. Glass’s journey on Earth has concluded, but his heavenly rewards have just begun. His memory will be treasured forever and his dedication to Christ will be a lasting testimony to all that knew him.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February at 11:00 AM at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. David Fambrough and Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiating. Burial will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery.
