Officials with the Central City Police Department in Muhlenberg County are looking for an individual, Dacian Mihai, who was recently identified during an investigation of a suspicious vehicle/subject.
Last seen operating a 2008 white Chevrolet van with Virginia tag “TMT3584,” this vehicle has been spotted in the Hopkinsville/Christian County area during the Wednesday-Thursday 24-hour window.
If the vehicle, or person, is spotted, call 911 or (270) 890-1300.
Law enforcement say he was born December 15, 1978, he’s 5-feet, 9-inches tall and allegedly of Russian nationality.
In November 2022, and according to online source Fauquier Now just outside of Washington, D.C., Mihai was one of two men arrested in connection with thefts of copper and other metals in the Marshall, Virginia, area.
Mihai’s charges were two counts of grand larceny greater than $1,000 not from a person, stolen property with the intent to sell great than $200, possession of burglary tools and driving without a license prohibited with penalties.
Mihai was held on a $20,000 surety bond.
Sources in Christian and Trigg counties indicate Mihai has, in the last week, made several successful attempts seeking charitable support from churches.
