Trigg County Solid Waste will be having its first tire round-up of the year later this week as the county continues to work with residents to safely and properly get rid of used tires.
Solid Waste Coordinator Ron Brown said they will be collecting all types of tires free of charge.

click to download audioResidents can bring an unlimited number of tires for disposal free of charge. Brown said no tires can be accepted before the day of the tire round up and no other trash will be accepted with the tires.
Brown also said no tires will be accepted from tire retailers and agriculture tire retailers.
Last year, 159 tons of used tires were collected in Trigg County.
The tire round-up will be Thursday and Friday from 8:00-4:00 and Saturday from 8:00-noon at the county road garage at 2759 Hopkinsville Road.
