Trigg Co Youth Leadership Students Comment On Their Experiences

Trigg County High School’s Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to apply for a spot on the Youth Leadership Team each year. This year they got to travel to many different places in the community to learn the behind the scenes of being a leader in all kinds of industries. These included: a 4-H challenge, agribusiness, business industry, tourism, media, education, government and law, military, health and medical. We heard from each member of the team on their experiences at the Trigg County Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn.

Rachel Price and Lizzie Butts started it off with their trip to 4-H camp and the team building activities they participated in.

Brylee Williams talked about Ag Day when they visited the Seven Springs Farm’s diverse operation. She also commented that this day was very special to her after growing up in the agriculture industry.

Ian Humphries also grew up in agriculture and he continues with what they did the rest of Ag Day.

Jacey Holmes discusses industry and small business day where the group learned all the different factors in successfully running a business.

Jessie Paulter said tourism day brought a new appreciation to her about Cadiz and they got to connect what they learned in school to real life.

Jennie Watts talked about media day that took place at our very own station. Owner, Beth Mann gave a tour to the group and explained some of the history that can be found in the station’s museum.

Slaton Carter discusses education day and how they spent the day at the Trigg County Board of Education and the new CTE building.

Lance Breckel spoke out government and law day. This included a trip to the Court House and the Fiscal Court Building.

Ciarrah Burchnell described what the group did for military day and the history they learned. She also mentioned how the day was especially interesting for her because both of her parents are enlisted and she plans to follow the same path after graduation. 

Addison Cabbage finished it off by talking about their last day, health and medical.

Each of these individuals graduated from the Youth Leadership group at the meal and we wish them good luck on their future endeavors!
