Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam says he is thankful there were no injuries or loss of life reported as the results of severe storms that resulted in severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings Sunday.

Judge Gilliam declared a state of emergency Sunday afternoon to help the county begin to assess damages from the storm and possibly seek federal assistance from FEMA. Gilliams says most of the damage in Christian County was across the southern part.
