A Hopkinsville woman employed by Hopkinsville Solid Waste was arrested Thursday on charges of felony theft and falsifying business records.
Hopkinsville Police reported that 51-year-old Jenny Lou Delawson, a Human Resources and Administrative Manager, falsified business records of payroll records so she continued to receive life insurance, but instead of the costs coming from her check, they were paid by the company.
The alleged crime occurred between January 2019 and May 2024, resulting in nearly $1,800 in losses to the business.
Hopkinsville officials will not comment on Delawson’s employment status with the city.
