Hopkinsville non-profit organization Joy Closet celebrated a groundbreaking Monday morning for its Hope House, continuing its mission of easing the transition of children removed from homes by the state and into foster care.
Heather Gray, executive director of Joy Closet, said Hope House will be a safe place for children on removal day.
click to download audioJoy Closet received a donation of the property, and Legacy Metals agreed to build Hope House. Gray said people can sponsor a square foot or an entire room in the building, adding the mission of Joy Closet remains one of hope.

On June 27, they will be hosting a lunch fundraiser at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
