People attending the 73rd Annual Western Kentucky State Fair will notice improvements to the facilities and grounds over the nine-day fair run.
Fair board member Brad Hewell said some new blacktop will be seen in some important areas.

click to download audioThe improvements this year come on the heels of last year’s construction of a new livestock barn that was completed with the help of a $100,000 grant from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
The fair begins Friday night with rides and a petting zoo.
Admission to the fair is $3 per person and $1 for military with an ID. Children 2 and under are admitted free.
Admission, grandstand events, and select fair booths are cash only. There will be some ATMs on site.
