Scheduled for October 5th, the Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take over the Justice Center parking lot in downtown Hopkinsville, to provide hope and support for caregivers and honor those going through the disease.
Walk Manager Danita Reiger-Ward told Your News Edge that Alzheimer’s affects everyone.
The hope is one day to have the Promise Garden filled with white flowers.
Reiger-Ward said they consider this walk the largest community support group for those caregivers dealing with Alzheimer’s.
Registration for this year’s event is open and can be found here. Reiger-Ward invites everyone to come out to show support for those who are dealing with the disease.
As of Thursday, the Pennyrile effort was 18 percent toward their $60,000 goal.
