On the court, Christian County’s Shiloh Baker is a big part of the success of the Christian County Lady Colonel volleyball team. Off the court, she excels in the classroom, is involved in her school community, and is obviously, headed toward being a very successful individual. It is that combination that has Shiloh as the latest to be recognized as a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

As a part of the Lady Colonel volleyball team, Shiloh lettered in both her freshman and sophomore years at Christian County High School. During the annual postseason banquet after the 2023 volleyball season, she received the Colonel Award for her efforts.

Shiloh carries her skills on the volleyball court forward. She coached a youth volleyball team at the Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex this past season.

In the classroom, Shiloh, who is quite adept at serving aces on the court, is an ace herself. She carries a 4.0 GPA, which is no small accomplishment when carrying a load of AP Courses. In fact, Shiloh just passed the AP exam for world history. That accomplishment gives her college credit at the university of her choice.

This academic excellence has been consistent throughout Shiloh’s time at Christian County High School. She has been on the Principal list every year since starting high school. With playing high school and club volleyball, and the other things with which she is involved, this is something well worth recognizing.

For her work during her sophomore year in 2023-2024, Shiloh received the Health Science Student of the Year Award at the Gateway Academy. The Health Science award was chosen by her teachers as their top student.

She has also been chosen as Student of the Month from Gateway Academy and Christian County High School multiple times. Nominations for those honors come from her teachers, which also says a great deal about this outstanding young student-athlete.

Not only does she have it down in the classroom, Shiloh is also involved in the school community at Christian County High Schools. With her academic performance, she is involved with the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is an organization for high schoolers that promotes leadership, service, character, and scholarship. High school students in grades 9-12 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply for membership into the National Honor Society. To be admitted, students must show academic commitment, leadership experience, and good character.

Shiloh is also a member of the Beta Club. Beta is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, which for more than 80 years, has prepared today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta’s goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

Shiloh’s school community involvement includes the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Key Club. She attends community service projects within her clubs at school and has helped out with field days, fall festivals, and community cleanup events. She is also involved with the special needs kid at Christian County High.

Shiloh attends Edgewood Baptist Church with her family.

As for her future plans, with her efforts at Gateway, it is no surprise that Shiloh says she would like to be a pharmacist.

Just a junior for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, we will all get the chance to see more out of this impressive student-athlete for the next couple of years, both on the volleyball court and in the community around her. Those are the things that make Shiloh Baker another great Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
