In addition to deciding to move the tournaments to Owensboro for 2025, the All A Classic board of directors also set the pairings for this year’s basketball tournaments. The boys’ and girls’ All A Classic basketball tournaments will be played at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
For the 2nd Region All A Classic boys winner, it will be a team from the east in an early morning battle in the opening round of play. The 2nd Region champ will square off against the 15th Region champ at 8:30am on Thursday, January 23. Lyon County has won three of the last four 2nd Region titles, while Pikeville has won three of the last four 15th Region All A titles.
The 4th Region All A Classic boys champ will take to the court that Thursday evening at 6:30pm against the 7th Region champion. Clinton County won the 2024 4th Region championship. Todd County Central won the 2022 4th Region title. Kentucky Country Day has won three of the last four 7th Region All A titles.
On the girls side, it will be the same regional matchup at the Sportscenter that the 2nd Region boys face. The girls’ 2nd Region All A champ will take on the winner in the 15th Region at 8:00pm Wednesday, January 22. Crittenden County has won the last two and three of the last four 2nd Region titles. Pikeville has won three straight 15th Region crowns.
For the 4th Region All A Classic girls’ champion, it will be the game right before the 2nd Region takes to the court, as the 4th Region winner will square off against the champion from the 16th Region. Cumberland County has won two of the last three 4th Region crowns. Menifee County has taken the last two 16th Region All A Classic girls’ championships.
