Betty Latham, 81, of Elkton

Betty Lou Lyons Latham, 81 of Elkton, affectionally known as Grammy passed away at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at her residence.  Services will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Mike Cummings and Rev. David Wilkerson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.  Visitation will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home and on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Services will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Latham was born October 17, 1942, in Cadiz, KY.  She had previously worked at The Bird Cage at Fort Campbell as an Administrative Assistant, and as Secretary at Austin Peay for the Dean of Affairs, Phelps Dodge. She was a proud homemaker and mother volunteering at the school. Church secretary at Elkton Baptist Church where she was a member and also served on the Women on Mission and Senior Adult Fellowship she was also a member of the Todd County Women’s Club.  She is preceded in death by her parents General John Jay Pershing Lyons and Sylvia Dell Pearl Lyons, and her husband Robert M. Latham.

     She is survived by her son Michael Todd Latham of Cadiz, KY, her daughter Beth Latham Casey and her husband Chad of Elkton, her grandchildren Karen Michelle Latham Griffy and her husband Josh of Clarksville, TN, Kevin Michael Latham and his wife Harley of Hopkinsville, KY, Carley Elizabeth Casey and her fiancé Jack Strader of Elkton, and Edye Nicole Casey of Elkton, her great-grandchildren Marlon, Sydney, and Davis Griffy of Clarksville, TN, Myles, Kinlee and Harper Latham of Hopkinsville, KY.
