Traffic Paint Striping Along I-24 in Kentucky Through Next Week

Drivers traveling on Interstate 24 need to be aware that a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started traffic paint striping.

According to District 1 spokesman Keith Todd, a paint truck and support caravan began work Thursday morning along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 from the Ohio River Bridge through McCracken County to the Trigg-Christian County line near the 70-mile marker.

He mentioned that over the next several days, multiple traffic paint crews will be working along the main line of I-24 in Caldwell, Lyon, Trigg, Marshall, and McCracken counties. Todd urges drivers to use extra caution when they encounter these slow-moving caravans.

Motorists should be alert for paint trucks accompanied by multiple support vehicles and a police escort. The paint crews plan to be on the road during daylight hours, weather permitting.

While the paint crews use fast-drying paint, Todd reminds motorists to avoid driving through fresh paint

Appropriate caution is required when equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway near traffic flow.
