The Trigg County softball team topped the City of Cadiz Saturday night during a game held to benefit Trigg County Special Olympics, with more than $3,600 raised.
Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says a ninth inning homer helped the county pull out a victory.

click to download audioWhen the dust settled Trigg County defeated the City of Cadiz by score of 10 to 8 before a large crowd at the Trigg County Recreation Complex. Sheriff Aaron Acree says $3,606 was raised for special olympics. He says several volunteers helped make the game a success.
click to download audioAlthough the Trigg County team earned the win Saturday night, the city of Cadiz still holds a two games to one lead in the series that was first played in 2005. Acree said he is hoping the fundraiser will become an annual event.
