Since June 1, Trigg County students kindergarten through fifth grade have been collecting four-leaf clovers — all part of a contest ending August 16, and just in time for the August 17 “Back to School Bash.”
LaNell Bell, Homebound teacher, notes the top girl and boy winner in grades K-through-2nd will each receive a bicycle, and the top girl and boy winner in grades third-through-fifth will do the same.
Using their booklet provided before the end of last school year, students have to tape their lucky finds to pages, and list on how many are on each page. On the front cover: list the total. There are still two weeks to add to the collections.
Not only will winners be determined at the “Back to School Bash” — which is free to families — but all students who attend will get some notebook paper and pencils, as well as three tickets to use for free concession items.
Held at the Cadiz Methodist Church on 482 Lakota Drive, activities could include a cupcake walk, a hay ride, a softball throw, some basketball hoops, a football toss, a soccer ball kick, some cornhole, bouncy houses, some bucketball, some kerplunk, Jenga, Tic-Tac-Toe, yard dominoes, some flickin’ chicken, some ladder golf, yo-yo-ing, races, a bake sale and, of course, concessions.
