City Of Hopkinsville Opens Online Pay Portal

Officials with the City of Hopkinsville announced last week the August 1 launching of a new online payment system — one that provided residents and businesses with a convenient, helpful way to pay taxes and fees from any location with internet access.

Public Information Officer Amanda Brunt calls it “a gamechanger.”

Mayor JR Knight confirmed a change in software made this measure possible for the community.

Knight also noted there’s hope this assuages the city’s cash flow issue, with fewer outstanding charges lingering in the ether.

The process, he added, is also less cumbersome than it was previously.

Users can now access payroll withholdings, insurance premium taxes, all licenses and hotel/motel taxes through this process. It eliminates the need for stamps and printed paperwork, and a 2.4% processing fee is applied for all credit card payments.

For those who prefer traditional methods, payments can still be dropped off or mailed in, and the full options are:

— Online
— In-person at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center Tax Office at 715 S. Virginia Street, from 8 AM until 4:30 PM weekdays
— Or addressed to the City of Hopkinsville, PO Box 707, Hopkinsville, KY 42241
