Trigg County Holds Annual Farm Bureau Membership Meeting

Trigg County Farm Bureau members approved policy recommendations, heard the annual insurance report, recognized youth during the annual meeting Friday, August 9th, at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.

More than 250 county farm bureau members chose to stay for the annual meeting to hear updates and watch the outstanding farm bureau youth competition and see some youth recognized for their work in 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA.

County board member Donovan Washer presented three policy recommendations that were approved by the membership.

County Farm Bureau Insurance Agency Manager J. B. Moore says after the 2021 tornado, floods in 2022, the 2023 wind storm, the insurance company has had several claims this year due to another round of tornadoes during the Memorial Day Weekend.

Moore says automobile insurance continues to be a concern for Kentucky Farm Bureau, with the company not seeing a profit in 32 months.

During the Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth contest Jaydon Ennis won the male division and Jennie Watts the female division. Avery Wade placed second and Lucy Litchfield placed third in the female division.

Stephanie Perry recognized Anna Sink, Ian Humphries, Clayton Litchfield, Laura Kate Thomas, and Jayce Holmes for winning $500 scholarships from Trigg County Farm Bureau. Perry also announced the Rhett Plymale was the recipient of a state scholarship from Kentucky Farm Bureau.

Trigg County 4-H Agent Shelly Crawford presented outstanding 4-H member awards to Jennie Watts

Crawford also presented the Outstanding 4-H Award to Gavin Kline.
