On Tuesday afternoon, the 586th Field Hospital, Eagle Medic Team, and a portion of the 531st Hospital Center held a casing of the colors ceremony on the 586th grounds.

This event marks their preparation for an upcoming deployment to Kuwait this fall in support of Operation Spartan Shield (OSS).

The 586th FH specializes in providing expeditionary and tailored Role 3 healthcare to warfighters and supported forces globally. Lt. Col. Adam Sokolowski, Deputy Commander of Nursing, said the focus will be on people, partnerships, and innovations in healthcare.

The unit will support OSS with hospitalization and outpatient services, working closely with Joint and Host Nation Partners.

The team has undergone extensive training, including joint exercises with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and a culminating exercise at Fort McCoy.

The 586th FH is set to deploy with 14 MAP Soldiers from Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, bringing a range of medical specialties to support OSS.
