What was left over from tropical storm Francine did not bring as much rain as expected to the Pennyrile region over the weekend and did not do much to move the needle on the current drought conditions.
Rainfall from Friday to Sunday ranged from four-tenths in Caldwell County to six-tenths in Trigg, Christian, and Hopkins County. The Todd County mesonet site recorded 1.6 inches thanks to over an inch and a half on Saturday.
Dan Spaeth, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said warn and dry conditions are expected for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
