Wanda Robertson Sowell, age 87, of Cerulean, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her home.
She was born on July 25, 1937, in Wallonia, Kentucky, to the late Douglas & Delia (Keel) Robertson.
A graduate of Trigg County High School, Wanda married Eugene Sowell on December 29, 1961. Together they worked hard on the family farm in Cerulean while raising their two sons. Outside of the home and farm life, Wanda put her skills to use at Flynn Enterprises and Elk Brand Mfg.
Wanda was a longtime member of Wallonia Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling to new places and making friends on group bus trips with the Trigg County Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Eugene Sowell; her daughter-in-law, Denise Sowell; and a sister, Birtie Hart.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 63 years, Eugene Sowell; her son, Jason Sowell; three grandchildren, Jesse Sowell, Heather Alvey, and Lara Alvey; and a sister, Fay Fooshee of Cadiz.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, with Bro. Billy Joe Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Cerulean Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service.
