Clarksville Man Charged With Burglary In Hopkinsville

A Clarksville man was charged with burglary and impersonating a peace officer on North Main Street Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a burglary in progress at the Fairview Inn and found 36-year-old Brian Smart.

He was reportedly in possession of a constable badge, pepper spray, handcuffs, nine doses of oxycodone, a 9mm handgun, and ammunition.

He was arrested and charged with theft of identity, receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, impersonating a peace officer, first-degree burglary, using restricted ammo during a felony (no shots), and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
