Despite a 70-32 home loss to visiting McCracken County, Christian County football was able to rally around its 2024-25 Homecoming Court Friday night at Stadium of Champions — when footballer and team captain CJ McCarley was named its King and JaVaea Starks its Queen.

A senior at CCHS, Starks is the daughter of Davettea Stafford and Chris Patterson.

She’s a member of Art Club, FBLA and the Photography Club, and after high school, she plans to join the United States Army and pursue a career in the medical field.

Also a senior at CCHS, McCarley is the son of Tina Radford and Chris McCarley.

He’s a member of BSU, Upward Bound, Art Club, the Prom Committee, Yearbook Club, the CCHS track team and the Superintendent’s Advisory Council.

After high school, he plans to attend Western Kentucky in Bowling Green to pursue a degree in sports medicine.

The rest of the court included:

+ Brittan Joiner, who was escorted by McCarley. A senior at CCHS, she’s the daughter of Heather and Eric Joiner. She’s a member of NHS, BETA, KYA, Art Club, Student Council, Prom Committee, Sub Deb, Gifted and Talented, HOSA, the Yearbook Staff and Competitive Cheer for Universal Athletics. After high school, she’s going to be a Governor at Austin Peay State University, where she will major in nursing.

+ JT Miles, who escorted Starks. A senior at CCHS, he’s the son of Jackie and Toby Biles, and is a member of Jazz Band and Cross Country. After high school, he plans to attend Murray State University to study music performance.

+ Princess Whitlock, a senior at CCHS. She’s the daughter of Eboni Whitlock and Alajouwon Burks. She’s a member of FCA, FBLA, the Colonel Collective and is a former member of the CCHS volleyball squad. She plans to go to Texas Christian University for two years, before entering basic training for the United States Army.

She was escorted by Bosa Osbes. A senior at CCHS, he’s the son of Rhonda Parris and David Osbes. He’s a member of the wrestling team, track team and FCA, and after high school he plans to enter the U.S. military, particularly the Air Force, and be an aircraft carrier mechanic.

+ Bernice Berney Abonita was escorted by Gabriel Jolin. A senior at CCHS, she’s the daughter of Bituin and Joseph Ferra. She’s a member of FFA, NHS and the Photography Club, and after high school, she plans to attend Austin Peay State University to major in social work.

Jolin, meanwhile, is a senior at CCHS, and the son of Chris Jolin and Andrea Watts. He’s a member of the Drama Club, as well as Dungeons and Dragons Club (which, kids say, is a critical hit). After high school, he plans to attend Murray State University, where he will major in architecture and engineering.

+ Escorted by Jacorie Jones, Amariyea Gamble is a senior at CCHS and the daughter of Keisha Brown. A member of FBLA, BSU and the Colonel Collective, she’s following up high school with a visit to “The Hill” in Bowling Green, where she will pursue a nurse practitioner’s degree at Western Kentucky University.
