Edge Media Group’s annual Pink Out event returns to the WKDZ/WHVO Studios on Friday afternoon.
The event started in October 2010 and serves as a fundraiser for the Pink Ribbon Network. It began as an awareness event for women to be reminded about the importance of testing for breast cancer each year.
The event has several sponsors including Herb Hays Furniture and Mattress with Lee Ann Naghtin sharing why they have supported the event over the years.
Naghtin adds the support shown by the Pink Ribbon Network and founder Ann Isom was invaluable to her family. She says the support the group offers continues, even as Isom is undergoing another round of cancer.
Hancock’s Neighborhood Market has sponsored the event since it began, with owner Mallory Lawrence emphasizing the significance of annual exams and check-ups for early cancer detection.
Pink Out will take place Friday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 at the WKDZ/WHVO Studios located at 19 DJ Everett Drive in Cadiz. The event is open to everyone at no cost, with donations collected through the sale of pink t-shirts and cupcakes from Hancock’s Neighborhood Market.
A number of sponsors will be present to provide valuable information, and Trigg County Hospital will once again offer flu shots this year.
