Shirley Phipps, 86, of Hopkinsville

Shirley Grace Phipps, age 86, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her daughter’s home. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Monday, October 28, 2024, with burial to follow in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mrs. Phipps was born in Christian County, KY, on February 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Arvil and Hazel Powell Grace. She was a loving homemaker and previously a faithful Sunday school teacher for 28 years at Parkway Missionary Baptist Church. Shirley was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Steve Stagner; her brother, David Milton Grace and her sister, Nola Grace.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, JD Phipps of Hopkinsville; her son, Jeff (Melissa) Phipps of Hopkinsville; her daughters, Sheila Stagner of Hopkinsville, and Susan (Skip) Cunningham of Hopkinsville; her sisters, Juanita Martin of Hopkinsville, and Martha (William) Johnson of Hopkinsville; seven grandchildren, Mandy (Russ) Guffey, Jason (Melissa) Stagner, Lindsay (Bradley) Bardwell, Dylan (Melanie) Phipps, Wyatt Phipps, Melina Fincher, and Tanner (Kati) Cunningham;  and twelve great-grandchildren, Chaney, Laiken, Adler, and Cannon Guffey, Jason and Carter Stagner, Brooks, Beau, and Brady Bardwell, Cohen and Beckham Phipps and Aynslee Fincher.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Pennyrile Hospice.
