Name Released In Hopkinsville Shooting

A man was flown to a Nashville hospital after a shooting on Woodmill Road in Hopkinsville Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a report of a fight then shots fired and found 59-year-old Curtis Williams on Church Street that had been shot in the leg.

A tourniquet was applied to his leg and an ambulance was called.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says Williams was treated and transported by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter at Jennie Stuart Health to transfer him to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Williams’s injuries are believed to be severe. Several witnesses to the shooting are being interviewed.
