A Hopkinsville man was charged with theft after a stolen trailer was found on his property Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they found the stolen trailer on Hill Street after it was taken on Donna Drive earlier in the day.
The next day, 48-year-old Herbert Gibbs was reportedly found at the home and admitted to taking the trailer but stated he was told he could.
He is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
