Grand Jury Returns Several Drug-Related Indictments

The Christian County grand jury returned several drug-related indictments after its recent session.

31-year-old Natalie Gonsalez of Hopkinsville was indicted for trafficking in meth and cocaine and trafficking in marijuana. The charges are from an October 15 traffic stop in which police say Gonsalez was in possession of 50 grams of white powder, 300 grams of suspected meth, and eight ounces of marijuana.

57-year-old Terra Hayden-Liberty of Gracey was indicted on charges of two counts of possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia which were the result of an October 17 investigation.

52-year-old Jason McCann of Hopkinsville was indicted for possession of meth. During an October 8 arrest for probation violation, police say McCann possessed a needle and a white crystal substance believed to be meth.

30-year-old Maurice Powell of Cadiz was indicted for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a DUI-suspended license stemming from an October 31 traffic stop.

In other indictments returned by the grand jury, 31-year-old Elijah Thomas of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of fleeing police, criminal mischief, and several traffic charges. Police say they tried to stop a vehicle driven by Thomas for a seat belt violation, and he pulled into a driveway and then ran while the vehicle was still rolling.

The vehicle stopped after hitting a garage. Police say Thomas dropped his wallet, which contained his identification card, before leaving the scene, which made it easy to find him.

25-year-old Xavier Hernandez of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault. Police say Hernandez had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend on October 24 and punched her and choked her.

And 38-year-old Adam West of Clarksville was indicted for tampering with a prisoner monitoring device. West was arrested in August on drug trafficking and cocaine possession charges after Christian County sheriff’s deputies say he and a woman were found asleep in a church on Hugh Hunter Road in Oak Grove on August 18.

The indictment says West tampered with the monitoring device on August 29.
