The unique “Show Me Reptile Show” is soon making its way to Hopkinsville, with dates planned January 4-5 and October 11-12 in The Bruce Convention Center.
From 9 AM until 3:30 PM those days, visitors will be able to step into a world of “scales, tails and incredible creatures,” and those who are reptile enthusiasts, critter lovers and curious adventurers might want to plan a stop.
Visitors can expect “fascinating reptiles” from majestic pythons to adorable axolotls. Passionate experts will be on hand to talk about all sorts of creatures, and there will be opportunities to snap a photo with a tortoise, or to hold a gecko.
A marketplace will also be available for unique reptiles, aquatics, terrariums and other related supplies.
VIP Admission, allowing entry at 9 AM and a ticket valid for both days, is $15. General admission is $10, and allows entry at 10 AM. Kids ages 7-12 are $5, and kids 6 and under are free. Discounts are available for military and first responders, while teachers get 50% off general admission with ID.
All outside animals should be left at home.
According to their website showmereptilesshow.com, this is a company that frequently organizes educational reptile events. What started as a “bad idea” in a family living room has since evolved into this, as well as four stores in Missouri and Rhode Island.
In 2019, they created The Gateway Herpetology & Entomology Club, which from St. Louis raises awareness to endangered species of Guatemala’s Cloud Forest.
