In order to assist the eight states it serves, Atmos Energy has allocated $1.5 million in donations to non-profit agencies looking to help customers pay natural gas bills, past-due debt, deposits and other service charges.
Specifically for Kentucky, more than $120,000 went to several agencies:
In the Madisonville/Hopkinsville area, it went to Pennyrile Allied Community Services;
In the Owensboro area, it went to Audubon Area Community Services and Owensboro Help Office;
In the Paducah/Mayfield area, it went to West Kentucky Allied Services;
It the Bowling Green area, it went to Community Action of Southern Kentucky;
And in all other service areas, donations went out to the Salvation Army.
