William Spann, age 56, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Born on December 29, 1968, in Hopkinsville, he was the son of the late Henry Morgan Spann, Sr. and the late Della Clark Spann.
William was a dedicated farm laborer and a skilled small motor mechanic. He was a member of Bloomfield Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and could often be found working on lawn mowers in his workshop. But William’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Papaw”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Ann Spann.
William is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Mary Williams Spann; his children, Mary Spann, Frank Williams, Elizabeth Van Hoozer (Joshua), Linda Spann, and April Spann, all of Cadiz; his grandchildren, Destiny, Xana, Cymara, Diamond, Damarious, Samiyah, Spirit, Toron, Jr., Ryan, and Aryiah; and his brothers, Henry Spann, Jr. and Robert Spann (Betty), both of Cadiz.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, with Rev. Michael Nance officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service hour of 12:00 PM.
