Little River Bridge To Close For Debris Removal

Work to remove debris lodged against the Little River Bridge in Cadiz will now begin next Wednesday, according to the state transportation cabinet.

On Wednesday, the cabinet said the work would take a week, but on Thursday, they issued an update saying work would begin on Wednesday, March 26. The closure will be next Wednesday, March 26; Thursday, March 27; Friday, March 28; Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1. from 8:30 to 2:30 weather permitting.

A crew will be using a long-reach excavator to remove debris lodged against the bridge.

Access to Cadiz from the west next week can be made via the South Road from the US 68 bypass.

The state transportation cabinet plans a week-long, daytime closure of the Little River Bridge on Canton Road at the west Cadiz city limits next week.

The closure will be next Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 2:30 weather permitting.

Trigg County magistrate Mike Wright addressed the debris issue earlier this week at a fiscal court meeting, adding the Army Corps of Engineers is “well aware” of the build-up.
