The Christian County Grand Jury handed down several indictments on Friday, including on charges of theft, fleeing from police and wanton endangerment.
Two separate indictments were issued on James Phillips, of Hopkinsville, one of which involves theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $1,000 and $10,000 from Reliable Electric on January 2.
In the second indictment, Phillips faces multiple charges, including first- and third-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, and several traffic violations.
These charges are from January 19 when Hopkinsville Police reported officers attempted to stop Phillips on the Pennyrile Parkway at the Pembroke Road exit in connection with stolen youth football equipment. According to police, Phillips fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph before his vehicle ran off the road into a field on Casky Lane. He allegedly attempted to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers.
In a separate case, Nautica George, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on a single charge of first-degree wanton endangerment.
George is accused of attempting to hit her boyfriend with a vehicle during an argument in a gas station parking lot on Fort Campbell Boulevard on December
