Glema Center Sets Summer Academy Dates & Titles

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Glema Mahr Center for the Arts is reopening for our June 2021 Summer Arts Academy. This year’s SAA will focus on education and technique, giving the students a strong foundation for the future. There will be a final showcase, but the emphasis will be on what the students learn, and not the performance.
The SAA will be structured a little differently this summer to ensure the health and safety of all participants. Maximum capacity for each of the four academies will be 20 students, with no more than 10 students involved in any group session at the same time. Students will be required to wear masks during the academy. If social distancing can be achieved on stage, participants will be allowed to perform without the mask. Showcase attendance will be limited to immediate family members.
6^th-8^th Grade SAA: June 1-11, 2021, 9-Noon. Family Showcase: Disney’s Moana Jr. June 11, 7 p.m.
9^th-12^th Grade SAA: June 1-11, 2021, 1-4 p.m. Family Showcase: Disney’s Aladdin Jr. June 12, 7 p.m.
K-2^nd Grade SAA: June 14-18, 2021, 9-11 a.m. Family Showcase: Disney, The Movies, the Music, June 18, 7 p.m.
3^rd-5^th Grade SAA: June 14-18, 2021, 1-4 p.m. Family Showcase: Disney, The Movies, the Music, June 18, 7 p.m.
The grade level refers to the grade just completed. The registration window is May 3-20, or when classes reach capacity.
Tuition is $75 for Grades K-5 and $150 for Grades 6-12.
