Naturefest Week at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center

September 13 – 18, 2021 Naturefest Week at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center.
The week of activities will entail the following:
Monday – The public is encouraged to walk the three miles of trails at Jeffers Bend, to give citizens the opportunity to exercise in a quiet environment, while observing birds, squirrels, wild turkey and other wildlife; various trees and other plants.
Tuesday – The public is urged to visit Jeffers Bend to see the variety of gardens that include the new Botanical garden, community garden, rain garden, butterfly garden, children garden, master gardeners garden, etc.
Wednesday – Those who love birds, are encouraged to bring birdseed to the Jeffers Bend Welcome Center.
Thursday – Bird lovers and novices alike, are encouraged to visit the bird observatory to observe birds feeding.
Friday – Individuals are encouraged to visit the Jeffers Bend Welcome Center and talk to volunteers about the history, accomplishments and ongoing programs.
Saturday – The week will culminate with the annual Naturefest event from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021. The event will entail over 40 activities to include archery, canoeing, several horses, various animals, storytelling, face painting, pumpkin painting, Boy Scout activities, a crawl through soil tunnel, walk in the woods, etc. The 2021 event, will place a special focus on health and wellness with the support of the Christian County Health Department, Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Pennyrile Area Development District, etc.
Note, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony at the Jeffers Bend Patio.
